DIPA R2/OCTONOMY

This is our second DIPA that we have released commercially. We learned a lot about the style on various dev brews that led to that first version along with all the feedback that has come in over the life of the beer.

On this page we have shared the workings and recipes for this beer, so you can see what was done in the brewery to get this beer made. We have also included a scaled down 21L home brew version and a Beersmith recipe file which you can dwonload HERE. So any of you out there with a all grain setup - feel free to have look through and fire up the brew kit at home.

The idea here was to make an easy drinking double, and weighing in at 50 IBUs its on the smoother side for this style with a relatively moderate ABV. The hop profile is led by Amarillo and backed up by Azacca, Idaho7 and finally Mosaic. This steers it into the more orangey-red citrus fruits of tangerine, red grapefruit and blood orange along with a support cast of stone fruits, berries and ripe mango - making this a definite winter warmer. Golden Naked oats bring a richness to the mouthfeel and a minimal dose of kettle finings results in the semi hazy aesthetic we were aiming for.
